Garden centers and plant nurseries sell annuals, perennials, shrubs, trees, vegetables and houseplants, along with soil, mulch, fertilizer, pots and tools. Independent nurseries often grow part of their own stock and carry varieties that do well in the local climate, while big-box garden departments compete on price for common plants. Wholesale nurseries and growers sell to landscapers and sometimes to the public at volume prices; tree nurseries sell balled-and-burlapped and container trees and can deliver and plant large specimens. Specialty growers focus on bonsai, cactus and succulents, orchids or native plants, and hydroponics stores sell lights, nutrients and systems for growing indoors.

Amarillo is in Texas, in the South, where summers are hot and humid, winters are short, and severe storms in spring are a fact of life; businesses run air conditioning most of the year and many open early to beat the heat. Getting around Amarillo is easiest by car; street parking is metered in busy downtown areas, and most suburban businesses have their own lot. Ride-share apps such as Uber and Lyft operate across Texas's larger cities, and public transit varies from extensive to minimal.

My daughter-in-law and I were looking for a fig tree for my son's birthday but they were already out. But I found me some cute little frog figurines πΈπΈ

The plants here are healthy, but as is typical of so many chains, some of the plants aren't well adapted for the Texas Panhandle's climate. Not all of the associates know about plants. They do have a good assortment of pots and indoor plants. And the associates do try to help to the best of their ability. Rather than buy their pre-planted assortments, I would suggest choosing your own with a tall plant, medium height plant, and trailing plant that all are suited for the location you plan to place the pot in. That way, all the plants will live. The pre-planted pots usually have plants that like shade mixed with one's that like sun, so something will live when you get it home. Still, this Lowe's usually has healthy plants, a good assortment of plants, and the standard landscaping items one would want, so I would recommend it.

I went for 2 items. Found a variety of both. Instock and ready to go. I did have to use my Lowes app to find a couple prices, but thats one of the advantages of having the app.
